Ann Lowe: Black History Month

Anne Lowe: A trailblazer for fashion. daughter and granddaughter of celebrated seamstresses who were know for sewing for the First Ladies of Alabama. Worked as a commissioned designer for some of the major houses in the Fashion District but never got credit designed for some of the top families du ponts, Roosevelt's, Vanderbilts, and Rockefellers. She designed the wedding gown for Jacqueline Bouvier in 1953 when she married John F. Kennedy once again she never got the recognition only mention was that the dress was designed by a negro Ann Lowe.... Later on she opened a store inside of Saks Fifth Ave. awarded the Couturier of the Year Plaque and she's apart of 1968 Who's Who of American Women her fashions can be seen at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, Washington D.C's Black Fashion Museum and the Smithsonian...
